Architectural and interior photography in Alberta is a booming industry. Look at any photo portfolio and you will likely find a section completely dedicated to architectural photography (whether it be paid or self led.) Crystal Puim Photography started almost 20 years ago-upon graduating University with an Art and Design major back in 2002. As many budding photography businesses do we began our journey offering family, children and wedding photography. As time evolved we focused in on being strictly corporate and commercial photographers and we simply haven't looked back. Every genre of photography done along the path to corporate was fulfilling and we were good at it. But something opened up in us when we started shooting for homebuilders, community developers and corporate clients-we felt satiated. We will never get bored of seeing our work on billboards and in print!

What we have to offer is a unique combination of quality, fair pricing and lightning fast turnaround. When we began our photography journey into the commercial realm architectural and interior photography was being offered by companies that charged at least double what we were asking.Simply put, we could offer fair prices and quick turnaround because we were mainly using natural lighting! There wasn't hours of set up that so many photographers were doing. While we offer complex light set up (for campaign ads, architectural shots intended for magazines or high traffic marketing or corporate headshots) we knew that there was a niche being missed. Homebuilders, contractors, community developers and construction companies sometimes need as little interference as possible. Quick in and out shooting before tenant turnovers take place for example. The less time we need on location means time savings for company reps that show us around. It's getting increasingly busier in the boom of Alberta construction! We pride ourselves in finding that sweet spot. A balance between on location time management and offering quality photos using the extra time in post processing.

Our secret? 90% of the work we display on our website is natural light based. We fix lighting, tone curves, correct lens distortions and perspectives in post so that our clients can quickly aid us in getting the images we need, touring us and pointing out highlights, and then getting on to the myriad of other to-dos that they have to get done in a day! Every minute counts and we understand that. Also, an advantage of streaming our time on location is that we can shoot MORE in a day (3-4 locations on average within half a day) which saves you money and time! We have perfected this efficiency on site so well that we often can complete an entire show home or commercial, corporate, retail or medical space within an hour!

Alcotex and Synergy Projects Ltd

Below is an example of what you can expect when hiring Crystal Puim Photography for your architectural and interior photography needs. When shooting these Bonnie Doon Rec Centre exteriors for Alcotex we were on location for half an hour. Our shoot of The George for Synergy Projects Ltd was complete within an hour. Alcotex hired us to independently shoot the exteriors requested. Synergy sent a project manager to give us a 45 minute tour of highlights to capture.
